Let’s face it – doom can get really boring. If bands stick to the textbook doom formula, chances are you’re going to fall asleep no matter how loud you play it. Warning, however, will re-instill your faith, brother. Think of them as a down-tempo Sunny Day Real Estate – beautifully melodic and heavy, with emotionally tortured vocals and darkly introspective lyrics. Singer/guitarist Patrick Walker with leave you with chills crawling up your spine at a snail’s pace. Can doom be described as gorgeous? Fuck it, why not? With only a couple demos and 2 full length albums, Warning’s legacy will probably only remain at cult status. Sadly, Warning disbanded a 2nd time in 2008. Not recommended if you’re drinking alone, or if your shitty girlfriend just broke up with you.
