16 Me & My Shadow Relapse

Sometimes it feels like people worship the same sludge-esque, dirge-oriented metal bands. Sure we all love Electric Wizard, Kylesa, EYEHATEGOD and Buzzo*ven, but there are those few bands that seem to fly under the “Holy Fuck” radar. 16 is one of them. Of all the bands that take cues from Sabbath and the like, 16 may be the most underrated – and best. This California-based outfit makes the most depressive songs of the genre, only adding to its already punishing sound. “Me & My Shadow” will make you feel like absolute shit.

16’s Bridges to Burn is out now via Relapse.
