Kranky founder Bruce Adam’s new label Flingco Sound recently released the Black Box. This is the dark ambient equivalent of the Buddha Machine that was released a few years back. Maybe partially inspired by 2006 compilation album Jukebox Buddha, (featuring artists like Sunn O))), Kammerflimmer Kollektief, and Sun City Girls using the machine as an instrument) or possibly just an obvious, natural progression. Either way, it needed to happen and we’re glad that it did. Unlike the original, this comes with a list of contributing artists from the label’s roster, and all pieces are specifically for the Black Box. Check out the tracklist below:
